2025 Sponsorship Drive - Students & Young Professionals Committee



Good Afternoon,

We hope you’re all having a great start to the New Year! On behalf of the Florida Water Environment Association’s (FWEA) Students and Young Professionals Committee (SYPC), I am excited to announce the kicking off our SYPC 2025 Sponsorship Drive. The support of our committee sponsors is pivotal in allowing the SYPC to continue to empower the next generation of wastewater professionals through various networking, educational, and professional development opportunities. In the past year alone, the SYPC was able to host the following events/activities:
  • 2024 Student Design Competition held at the Florida Water Resources Conference (FWRC)
    • The University of Florida (UF) and University of South Florida (USF) teams won the SDC Environmental and Wastewater Categories, respectively, and got to travel to WEFTEC 2024. The UF team continued their winning momentum, bringing home a first place title in the national Environmental Design category (this is the first time a Florida team has placed 1st at WEFTEC since 2014)!
  • 2024 Poster Competition held at FWRC
  • 2024 YP Workshop held at FWRC with over 50+ attendees
  • Various Student Outreach Initiatives including beach cleanups, football tailgate events, in-person meet-and-greets with students, as well as organized treatment plant tours.
  • Two Committee Newsletters (Summer 2024 and Winter 2024 – Under Development)
  • Second Annual FWEA Internship Program which received over 260+ student applicants and 27 participating organizations (to learn more please visit our Internship Program webpage)
  • Making Waves with FWEA is our first annual FWEA podcast aimed at discussing industry trends with FWEA’s very own leadership and other active volunteers - check out our first episode, which just went live, wherever you listen to your podcasts!
  • NEW YP InFLOW Scholarships are being developed with the goal of providing students from underrepresented groups with a travel allowance to attend FWRC (to learn more please visit our InFLOW Scholarship webpage)

Online payments will be processed on our sponsorship webpage. For Gold and Silver sponsors, please also provide your Company Logo, and Quarter Page Ad (Gold Sponsors) or Business Card (Silver Sponsor) so we can recognize you on our SYPC advertising material.
