Utility Management Committee

Description:

The Utility Management Committee (UMC) promotes efficiency and excellence in utility management. Our members include representatives from utilities, manufacturers, and consulting firms. UMC is highly active—providing educational outreach through workshops, webinars, and collaborations with other committees.

Our Mission

To advance continuous quality improvement in utility businesses through customer focus, organizational leadership, strategic planning, process improvement, rewards and recognition, and employee engagement/development to create operational excellence results.

Committee Goals

• Create awareness of the need to pursue and measure continuous quality improvement.
• Provide education to enhance customer satisfaction in utilities, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Promote participation in AWWA Utility Quality Programs (QualServe), Florida Benchmarking Consortium (FBC), and Florida Sterling Council.
• Support utility management initiatives like Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 14001 certification.
• Advocate for regulatory benefits aligned with organizational excellence.
• Recognize world-class utility performance and achievements.
